Plastering apprentices will be taught to install and finish plasterboard and fibre cement sheeting to ceilings and walls by applying coats of plaster to produce a finished surface. Apprentices will also be taught to mix plaster to the desired consistency and spreading of the plaster using a trowel or float to get a uniform thickness. The apprentice may also be taught to create decorative textures in the finish coat and install precast ornamental plaster pieces on walls or ceilings.
